Thankful for the rest!
They must realize that the Sabbath is the Lord’s gift to you. People who work hard sleep well, whether they eat little or much. But the rich seldom get a good night’s sleep.
Exodus 16:29; Ecclesiastes 5:12 NLT
Resting is a habit that we must learn to cultivate. Many think that rest and loafing are synonymous, but it is just the opposite; loafing makes people avoid work, but rest is the deserved result of work. For many people the rest is something that generates guilt; they force themselves to produce without stopping as if they were machines, otherwise they feel guilty of being lazy or unproductive; but they forget that even the machines need to stop for maintenance and optimize its operation. Resting makes renew us, that we focus and allows us to enjoy the work of our hands, our mind and our spirit. —Thank you Lord for the “lean” times!
