Thankful for the “lean” times!

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:11-13 NLT

On one occasion a friend told me, “It’s easy to trust in God when we have a good bank account”; but the true faith is demonstrated in the times when we have nothing. We can easily falling prey to despair and hopelessness when financial commitments pressure us; but it is in these times of scarcity where we learn to depend on God; is when we do not see way out of our situation and we feel falter, that we can recognize that we need the Lord’s strength in order to feel contentment when all that we want is mourn. —Thank you Lord for the “lean” times!
