“Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. Therefore, as the Scriptures say, «If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.»”
1 Corinthians 1:30-31 NLT
Is very easy to believe that what we do or how we behave is what makes us good Christians.
Even some may think that they do ‘a favor’ to God when they are Christians; believing that is God who should be honored with their presence in the church.
However, if we respond to the questions, what Jesus has done for us? or What Jesus has given us? Our view of the Christian life will be very different.
Is Jesus who makes us righteous, pure, holy and has freed us from sin; that is to say, He has given us salvation and enables us to live in holiness.
But salvation and living in holiness will never be something that we can boast; they are not something that we achieve on our own efforts.
Salvation and holiness are a gift that Jesus gives us; we have not to pay anything for them, because Jesus already paid the price on the cross.
