“You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see.

Revelation 3:17-18 NLT

Many times we may be deceiving ourselves, believing that we are rich or that our lives are satisfied just to have everything what we want.

We forget that the wealth of this world, no matter how large it may be, will always be fleeting; so put our security on it is something illusory and temporary.

Unfortunately this type of wealth and security, become many people arrogant, who even think they do not need anything, or anyone to be happy.

As the Church of Laodicea, many having a great wealth, can live unhappy, miserable, poor, blind and naked; this means that they can be extremely rich, have everything they want and consider self-sufficient and yet live an unhappy life, miserable and purposeless.

The true wealth is what God gives us, which comes from a purification process; that is, if we really want that our life having real value, our life must be clean from all sin.

God is the only solution to eliminate poverty, and shame of nakedness that causes blindness of self-sufficiency.
