“Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord.”
Romans 12:19 NLT
It is so difficult not to want revenge! Especially when people have made us something that is unfair. Our natural tendency is wishing to get even for all those who wish us and do us damage.
If we take revenge for all the bad things people make us, is quite possible that at this time would have mankind ceased to exist.
But leaving vengeance in the hands of God, is not a matter of thinking that He will pay back “evil with more evil”; is to be aware that by the mercy of God ‘s vengeance is subject to repentance, that is, the primary interest of God is not the destruction of those who do us any damage, but to provide them the opportunity for repent of the evil they have made us and don’t suffer the punishment they deserve.
It is for this that leave everything in God’s hands is not easy, because we feel that He won’t do to them what “we want”, at the time that “we want” and in the way that “we want”.
But we don’t forget, that even Christians were worthy of God’s wrath, however and undeservedly Jesus suffered the punishment for our sins in order that we could receive God’s forgiveness; and then Why not forgive others if we were forgiven?
