“Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.”
Psalms 62:10 NLT
How do you earn a living? No doubt, there are jobs that make the person happy and fulfillment with what they do every day.
But I do not mean for a given position in your employment, or the amount of money that accrues satisfaction, and although it is not necessarily a bad thing; neither is the cause of true happiness. The power of a position and how much glare can earn, make money become the center of our work.
But any position or amassing a bank account can give full satisfaction; always people will want to have more power and more money, often leading that excessive enrichment desires end in to cause damage to others, either through extortion, theft, bribery, deceit, or exploitation
But these riches can never give a sense of accomplishment to the person; the blood money, never will be a money able to be enjoyed; no mistake about it, the pleasures or positions that can be achieved with this kind of money are passengers and superficial. Paradoxically wealth instead of providing freedom can generate slavery.
Do not forget, the problem is not that our riches increase; the problem is that it becomes the center of our lives.
