Emotional generosity

“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Proverbs 11:25 NLT

Being generous is not to give what is left, what bothers us, or what we do not want anymore.

True prosperity begins when we learn to give the best of ours.

We can be generous in sharing our material goods, but we can also be generous in sharing our knowledge, our experience, our spirituality or our mood.

Comfort, encourage or refresh the lives of others, is a way of being generous.

By giving such kind of support, we guarantee that when we need it, we ourselves will be refreshed, and there will always be someone willing to give us a “pat on the back”, motivating us to continue and not abdicate.

Jesus is our greatest example of emotional generosity, He tells us. “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
