Facing the change – 1

“Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce. Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away!

Jeremiah 29:5-6 NLT

How do you react facing change? Do you cry? Do you regret it? Do you live the memories and past glories?

God’s people faced a new reality that will require them change, the exile; and God counseled them the follow:

  • Build homes and plan to stay! – To build means having security and stability, it teaches us that in the midst of change we must stand firm, secure, and confident.
  • Plant gardens and eat the fruit they produce! – Change is not an excuse to stop being productive; we should use our skills and talents taking advantage of them on the new life’s challenges.
  • Marry and have children! – When we go through changes our relationships should not be undermined. We must not lose hope in people, and stop relying on them; likewise, the change should make us aware of the need to have successors that continue our work.

 To be continued…
