It was not my plan!
“Tell all the people, ‘This is what the Lord says: Take your choice of life or death! Everyone who stays in Jerusalem will die from war, famine, or disease, but those who go out and surrender to the Babylonians will live. Their reward will be life!”
Jeremiah 21:8-9 NLT
The plan of God for the people of Israel was expelled from their land; it was not a pleasant notice, much less what they had asked to the Lord.
They begged to Jeremiah to intercede for them before God; asking Him for His help, His mercy, and ask Him to make a mighty miracle as in the past, forcing the withdrawal of the invading army.
Many times it is the same in our lives, we ask God to release us from pain, anguish, punishment; we ask this without taking into account that in many cases, will be necessary that we go through a corrective process, in order we can change.
This correction will be part of God’s plan to restore us, and never will have the intention to destroy us; just the opposite, it will be to preserve our lives.
