What voices are you listening?
“Sanballat was very angry when he learned that we were rebuilding the wall. He flew into a rage and mocked the Jews,”
Nehemiah 4:1 NLT
When we decide to “rebuild” our lives, many of those around us will be upset and even make fun of us.
Many will minimize our effort, will dwarf the goal we have set, will want make us believe that it is wasting time, and will say us that we cannot rise from the rubble. Also when they see our progress, will devalue it even will tell us that it is not permanent, and anything will take us back or everything that we have achieved will collapse.
It is our choice to believe what these voices say or believe God who says: “If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!”
