Even priests need to be cleaned!

“Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua. And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.” Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.”

Zechariah 3:1-4 NLT

Being “Priest”, being in a ministerial role or serving within the church, is not a vaccine for not to sin.

Our “ministerial status” does not automatically purifies us, and the enemy will always be on the lookout to use our sin to accuse us and present us before the heavenly Father unworthy, and not only that, he also claim that God punishes us for our sin immediately.

But the Lord, in His infinite mercy, hears the lawyer’s intercession for our lives; that lawyer is Jesus Christ the righteous.

Our lawyer based His defense on the sacrifice and the blood Himself spilled on the cross, and for this paid price, that God tells the enemy that “rejects all accusations against us”, that “we have been plucked from the fire” , that “our sin has already been taken away”, and we have received “fine new clothes” – Hallelujah!

So, it is not “our priestly investiture” or “our ministry” which frees us from sin; but the provision of God the Father, who gave His beloved Son that we might have forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
