What pleases God

“You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings. Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings. Then I said, “Look, I have come. As is written about me in the Scriptures: I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.

Psalms 40:6-8 NTL

Have you thought about which way is pleasing to God? Sometimes, without realizing it, we try to buy the pleasure of God through our offerings, reading the Bible, praying, attending church faithfully, or go further, actively participating in one or more programs of the Church.

All this is fine, but we can do all of these things and not be pleasing to God.

What God wants from us is only obedience to his will and this is something that is not negotiable, Jesus said it very clearly: “If you love me obey my commandments.”

Obedience to God is something that can not be bought, can not bribe God with religion, of course, this is not an excuse to get away from the church or its activities, however, obeying we come to understand that what we do is not to clean us from sin, that’s something only God can do; but when give our lives and our resources, we do it in an attitude of obedience and gratitude, not as a transaction of “do this” to “receive this. ”

If we are disciples of Jesus, please God by obeying.
