What is your life’s support?
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”
(Psalms 37:23-24 NTL)
There are two beliefs that have been spread and even rooted among the people of God, these have not foundation by the message of the Bible; but its strong and widespread acceptance is because it serves as an excuse to avoid our call of a life of obedience to God.
The first belief is that we cannot please God. This is true if we depend on ourselves to achieve it, but the Bible teaches us that we can have a behavior that pleases God, and is God himself who is responsible for helping us to stand in this lifestyle.
The second belief is if we stumble this makes us failed people. We fail when we don’t get up, when we were fallen bemoaning our situation, and feeling sorry for ourselves. But when we put our trust in God, we repent and change our behavior, and allow HIM become our support then we will not fail; we usually rely on something when we want to get up.
Remember, is a lie of the enemy to think that we can’t stand firm and that we are failures.
If your support is God your behavior will please HIM, and you will never fail to HIM. What is your life’s support?
