Jesus doesn’t know what I’m suffering!

“They dressed him in a purple robe, and they wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head. Then they saluted him and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!” And they struck him on the head with a reed stick, spit on him, and dropped to their knees in mock worship. When they were finally tired of mocking him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be crucified.

(Mark 15:17-20 NTL)

“Jesus doesn’t know what I’m resisting; HE has no idea of my suffering!” How many times in the midst of crisis or distress we have said or thought this?

To redeem us from our sins, Jesus, suffered physical, emotional and psychological; and it didn’t stop until Jesus did not resist anymore, it stopped until HIS torturers got tired. It is important to note that Jesus being God did not minimize HIS suffering, HE endured to the end.

For this reason Jesus understands us when we suffer, HE comprehends when we go through times of which we think that we can never get out; HE understands our pain when we are abused and treated without mercy. HE knows exactly how we feel when we are despised, humiliated and even treated like the worst scum of this world, HE knows how we feel when those around us, give us evil for good.

This is precisely what Jesus himself suffered, HE can understand better than anyone else, and is for that reason that the best we can do when we suffer, is get closer to HIS presence to rest on HIS lap and allow HIM to comfort our spirit, soul and body; by giving us the peace that only HE can give.
